Dearly Beloved,
The trickery of Satan is to cause us to follow him as he masquerades as God’s messenger. His followers sometimes do the same. That’s why sometimes we see people who claim to be believers yet reveal themselves to be false teachers in the end. It is important that we watch for this kind of deception and reject it whenever it comes. Just because a miracle is performed doesn’t mean that divine power is at work. People who automatically equate miraculous activity with God’s presence run the risk of being deceived.
Satan’s plan from the beginning of his fall, was to deceive God’s people. The Apostle Paul states in, 2 Corinthians 11:12-15 (NIV) And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
God never tries to fool people by disguising the truth. Truth must be known in order to have a personal relationship with Christ. “You shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” Truth is not always easy to swallow and digest, but accepting it is always the best choice. Listening only to what makes us feel good opens the door for the devil to trick us, but if we listen to the truth and adjust our lives accordingly, we will avoid Satan’s traps of deception.
Be Blessed.
